Boston Cow Parade
Returning to its historical, and pastoral roots this summer 2006, Boston's parks, plazas and streets are now filled with 120 life-size painted cows.
The Boston CowParade is organized by and benefiting The Jimmy Fund. The public display began today, June 6 and will conclude on September 5, 2006.
At the conclusion of the public display, the cows will be rounded up and sold to the highest bidders. Approximately 50 of the cows will be sold at a
live auction in October 2006 and following the live auction, the remaining
cows will be sold in an online auction. The proceeds from these auctions
will benefit The Jimmy Fund.
As a participating artist in the Cow Parade, I chose to paint a repetition
of dancing Chilies in different colors as a meaning of integration. The Chilies are painted in different colors to represent Boston's multiracial
community and give a little bit more spice to the mix. I called my cow
"Chilies Con Carne." She is located in front of Nike Town on Newberry
Street, at the intersection with Exeter Street. I have attached a picture of
her first day out on the streets. For additional pictures, visit my blog at

the official pull-out section/guide in the paper on Sunday the 18th
